Boot stompin’, devil chasin’ rock ‘n’ roll. That is what MG Graveyard is all about. Since their formation in 2010 The Slaughterhouse jam space in Surrey, BC has been home to this original four piece band. Members hail from White Rock, Vancouver and Surrey. Their sound has been described as grunge rock mixed with blues roots and a twist of funk. In 2012 MG Graveyard released their first 5 song EP recorded at Boomtown Studios in Surrey, BC and featured their most popular song “Hangman’s Graveyard” . They have performed around Vancouver and the lower mainland with such bands as Los Furios, Devil In The Woodshack, and The Shit Talkers . MG Graveyard was voted as one of the top 25 Vancouver Indie bands in 2012 by VanMusic, an online indie music blog and Vancouver promotion company. Frontman, Jeff “Obi” Konoby’s raw whiskey vocals pair seemlessly with lead guitarist Jess Goldstein’s slick bluesy licks providing an rock ‘n’ roll original sound. Drummer, Kevin Moser, and bassist, Trevor Sergius, keep the rhythm steady with smooth bass lines and unique drum beats. It’s the kind of music you can relax and have a beer to.
“MG Graveyard are sure to impress the audience. Their music has a funk blues infused sound that will make you rock with them.” Oswaldo Perez (VanMusic founder and CitR 101.9fm host)
